Storage Beds

Utilising the storage space under a bed is an ideal way of keeping bedrooms more tidy. Bedrooms are now seen as one of the most important rooms in the home to furnish. Maybe since the popularity of interior design shows or because life today is more hectic and creating the perfect environment in the bedroom helps us to unwind and recharge.

A storage bed will help to create this and rather than just "shoving" things under the bed which can look quite untidy we can keep things organised and clutter free. I do believe it is true that having the right environment in the home helps with  a feeling of personal calm. I cannot relax fully or concentrate if the room I am in is a mess, not everyone will agree with this though. You know that feeling you have when you have had a big sort out and spring clean.

There are many different types of storage beds.

What is known as a Captains bed is a wooden bed frame with built in drawers, some with centre cupboards and hideaway guest beds. Some on the market are quite flimsy however you can get some excellent quality hardwood or pine captain storage beds that will last for years. Captain storage beds are popular with children and ours are made to withstand the rough and tumble children.

If a bed frame is your preferred choice, many wooden beds come with matching wooden drawers. This gives a uniformed look and can help keep things organised and easily rolls in and out when needed. A single and small double will accommodate a pair of drawers and any sizes above can fit drawers either side of the bed. Not forgetting our stunning wooden ottoman beds.

A divan bed probably gives the most varied choice of storage. With a multitude of storage drawers to choose from, end drawers, 2 drawers, sliding storage, 4 drawers and even an ottoman base. An ottoman base gives you the maximum amount of  storage in a divan.

An ottoman bed is not only limited to divan beds they come in faux leather, upholstered and wooden storage beds.
