How to sleep at a festival!

As summer fast approaches us and the festival season is due to begin, festivals are very much on your mind and seem like a very big priority! Sleep at the festival may not be on the top of your “To-do” list at a festival but as soon as you’re on your second night and you’ve only had a couple of hours sleep the night before you're going to be wanting to get your head down. When you’ve eventually managed to get yourself into your sleeping bag next to all your mates, and you’re lying there wide awake, it can be very annoying!

So we’re going to give you some top tips which could be very helpful!

  1. The first piece of advice we have for you is to take an eye-mask, these can be vital because the in the morning it will be a lot lighter, a lot earlier in the mornings and when you're in a tent, it will wake you up a lot earlier than you intended to wake up!

  1. It may seem like a great idea to share a massive tent with ten of your mates before the festival and it may sound like a great laugh. But you will soon find out that it’s not all that it makes out to be; it could well result in the worst nights sleep in your life. Your friends who you lost in the night roll in in the early hours of the morning, and then you have some people who aren’t tired and still want to party! All of these things seem to just add up to a terrible night's sleep when really you want to get a good night's sleep ready for the next long day!

  1. When you first arrive at the festival and you're ready to pitch your tent make sure that there are no bumps that you will be lying on as you will not be getting any sleep with these under you! If there are any, either move all rocks or sharp items, or stand on the bumpy parts of ground to try and give yourself the best night sleep you possibly can.

  1. When getting back to your tent after a wet night and all you want to do is get warm in your tent! The last thing you should do is dive into your tent still dripping with water as you will only lie there damp for the rest of the night, the best thing to do is leave a towel by your door of your tent and dry yourself off before you get in.

  1. Finally we know that most of you will be drinking alcohol at the festival, how ever much this can be a big temptation to keep drinking all night, we recommend that you do your best to stop drinking a few hours before you go to sleep as you will sleep a lot better!

Hopefully these tips will help you throughout the festival season this summer!
