Daybeds - Space-Saving, Practical, Modern.
Daybeds are not only one of the most functional ways to take advantage of space in your home, they can look beautiful too.
Daybeds can be bed only or a daybed with a trundle. The daybed trundle simply slides down underneath the main frame. Some trundles for daybeds gently slide out on runners where others can raise up to the same height as the main frame and double up to an equivalent of a king size bed sleeping area! One such daybed is our luxury cast iron metal daybeds. This is genius when you have little space but expect multiple guests at a time such as Christmas or Summer Sleepovers. Saying that sleepovers seem to be very popular in year round.
The trundle is a second bed that is hidden away during the day maximising space and comes out at night for the guest staying.
Daybeds have the same concept as futons. It is a piece of furniture that has a dual purpose and convenience is key to the daybeds popularity. You can relax on it during the day, made more comfortable with cushions as we do with sofas.
The daybed was originally made by the Egyptians and Greeks, modernised for today but the bare essentials in daybeds design are still there.
